Cara Valiquette


Cara Valiquette, Lawyer

Cara graduated from Ryerson University with an honours degree in Commerce, major in Business Management, then earned a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Cara was honoured as “Favourite Lawyer” in the Bracebridge Examiner's 2014 Reader's Choice Awards.

Before opening her practice in Muskoka, Cara worked for the Ministry of the Attorney General, Legal Aid Ontario, and as an associate lawyer at a number of private firms, including M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. She practices general law with a focus on civil and family litigation, real estate, wills, and Aboriginal legal issues. She also represents children on behalf of The Office of the Children's Lawyer, Ontario.

Cara sits on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka and Muskoka Futures, a Community Futures Development Corporation.

Jay Herbert


Jason Herbert, Lawyer

Jay grew up in Toronto where he worked in the construction field until he graduated with Honours from York University with a specialist degree in history. After graduating from York, he earned a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Jay was recently honoured as “Favourite Lawyer” in the Bracebridge Examiner's 2015 Reader's Choice Awards.

During law school, Jay gained valuable experience while working at the Scarborough Crown Attorney's Office. He then moved to rural Northern Ontario to work at a law firm on a First Nation reserve. While working on a First Nation, Jay practiced several areas of law, including criminal, family (child protection), civil, employment and business in both an Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal context. Jay has practiced law in Muskoka for a number of years with a focus on criminal, family law, civil litigation and Aboriginal legal issues.

When not practicing law, Jay enjoys hiking, going to concerts and plays in the Bracebridge Men's Fastball league.

Mallorie Malone


Mallorie Malone, Lawyer

Mallorie graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Arts in Political Philosophy, and earned her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.

During law school, Mallorie worked as a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services student clinic, in the Criminal Division. She also assisted self-represented family litigants with Pro Bono Students Canada's Family Law Project. She represented U of T at the International Competition in Mediation Advocacy (2013) and at the national Kawaskhimon Aboriginal Moot (2014).

In the summer of 2012, Mallorie received the prestigious Donner Fellowship working on Aboriginal issues with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. The following summer, she received the equally prestigious Callwood Fellowship, developing an Aboriginal legal aid clinic with Falls Law Group.

Mallorie is thrilled to be back in Bracebridge practicing law with Falls Law Group.
